J. Armour, B. McAuley and R. Cummings, young 
Irishmen in the city, have undertaken to 
organize a Irish Canadian club which will go 
into athletics. Thomas Meredith, whose letter 
suggesting some such organization appeared in 
the bulletin on Thursday, will be asked to give 
his assistance. 

Toronto, Oct 25, Mrs. Walters, a blind woman, 
aged eighty eight was burned to death in East 
Whitby by her clothes catching fire. 

Portage La Prairie, Oct 25, At the assizes here 
today Joseph Winn, of Gilbert Plains, was 
sentenced to 7 years in the penitentiary for 
shooting his neighbor, Stoney, with intent to 
kill. The farmer caught Winn robbing his shack, 
who aimed a gun at him.
