805 EDMONTON DAILY OCT 7, 1907 BLAIR, Robert BRANDHAM, William ORMSTEIN, Mr. & Mrs. FIERTSEIN, Mr. Robert Blair and Mrs. Blair left Saturday afternoon for Vancouver where they will likely take up their residence. 808 Toronto, Ont. Oct 6 A smart pickpocket stole $200 from William Brandham in the Toronto branch of the Bank of Hamnilton on Saturday noon and got away with the money. Branham had just cashed the cheque and was standing at the wicket when he felt the man crowd him. When he missed the cash he accused the man of taking the money, but the reply was a plump denial. The man agreed to stay in the bank while a police was brought in and when Brandham went out for this purpose the stranger waited a few minutes and then disappeared. The bank officials are blamed for not detaining the alleged thief. Toronto, Ont. Oct 6, A fire in a Taylor shop and boarding house on York street, kept by a man named Ormstein, today caused the death of Ormstein's seven- year-old daughter, who was jammed between the bed and the wall and suffocated, and serious injury to several inmates of the house. Six men and women jumped from the upper windows and sustained bad injuries, one man's feet being smashed. Mrs. Omstein, mother of the little girl may die, and a man names Fiertsein was so badly burned he is not expected to recover. His wife was insensible when taken out, but recovered in fresh air.
