Jellis has been awarded the contract for the new rectory to be built by the St. John's congregation. He will commence building at once. W. Walter, is very sick and a consultation, will be held today. It is feared he may have to be operated upon for appendicitis. He was taken ill on Friday night and today his condition is alarming. Jas. Bruce is making a canvas of the town to obtain the feeling toward the building of an open-air skating rink. If sufficient subscribers can be obtained, Mr. Bruce will begin the work at once of putting in a rink on Broadway between Johnston's butcher shop and Woolley's feed barn. Geo. H. Or. Rang will open a first class barber shop in the McNamara block one door east of the Dominion Land Office on Church street about December first. W. Walker will open a large carriage show room on the Alberta side in the near future. The citizen's band will commence regular weekly practice for the winter months on Wednesday next. Bandmaster Or. Range expects to have a strong organization by spring. John Taylor is around again after a long and serious illness from pleurisy. Postmaster N.C. Lister has moved into town for the winter. From the preparation going on looks like something doing at that new buse pretty soon.
