1071 EDMONTON DAILY NOV 06, 1907 ORAM, Mr. Winnipeg, November 5, The efforts of the Montona officers, so far from clearing up the Oram mystery, have really deepened it. Sheriff Martin believes the other end of this crime is at Cokato or St. Paul, Minn. "Upon my arrival at Stanford." Says the sheriff in a letter, "our party immediately commenced and investigation. We were informed by Mrs. Oram, who arrived not long after us, that late in the season she sent her husband from St. Paul to sum of $2,600. This money was the proceeds of the sale of their restaurant at Cokato, and through correspondence the husband and wife had decided to purchase and start a business at Great Falls. It was with this view that she sent him the money. Oram knew well enough that the crews of the grading camps were composed of touch characters and advised his wife not to send a draft, as he would have to go to the bank to get it cased and some of those fellows would learn of it.
