B., of Collingwood, Ont., a honor graduate of the Ontario College of Pharmacy, has arrived in the city and accepted a position with the Edmonton Drug Company. Mrs. A.J. Ross, of Rivier Que Barrie, died yesterday afternoon at the general hospital, where she had been for the past three weeks. She had been quite ill for a couple of months before being brought to the city. She leaves a husband and child to mourn her loss. The body has been removed to Moffatt & McCoppen's mortuary, and the funeral takes place from there tomorrow afternoon. Mrs. George R. Oake, of Picard St., died last night at the Public hospital after an illness of several weeks. She leaves a husband, one child bereaved the funeral takes place from her late residence at 2.30 next Tuesday afternoon to Edmonton cemetery. At the police court yesterday afternoon, Joseph Jervais a farmer of Morinville, was fined $15 and costs for cruelty to animals. The defendant on Wednesday evening dragged two bronchos behind a team down the pavement on Jasper Avenue from the Hudson's Bay store to First street. He there left the team in charge of another drunken man and took the bronchos to a stable. Meanwhile the case had been reported to the police and Constable Haig took the team and the man in charge to the police station. Next morning, when Jervais came to find his horses, he was notified to appear at the police court yesterday afternoon, with the result that he was given a fifteen dollar fine. Two men were arrested last night on charges of robbery. It is alleged that one, named thompson, who was formerly employed in the Senate Cigar Store, has recently stolen a large number of articles from that store. The other named Ames Ames, is accused of robbing a comrade at the Interantional Hotel. On his person was also found some fake dice, which will lead to another charge being preferred against him.
