1311 EDMONTON DAILY DEC 4, 1907 BLANIK, Harry HASTINGS, W.H. DUPON, Mr. HANAN, John SANDERLIN, Chas. (Charles) Winnipeg, Dec 3, 1907 – Harry Blanik, arrested in connection with the stabbing of Tof Haggarty, was brought before Magistrate Daly, in the police court yesterday morning but upon application of W.H. Hastings, who is acting for the crown, was remanded for a week to await the result of wounds inflicted upon Haggarty., The victim of the stabbing is resting easily at the hospital and his condition shows such marked improvement that unless unforeseen complications set in his recovery may be confidently exacted. Three Rivers, Dec 3 Four children of Mr. Dupon were burned to death at their home near here last night. Mrs. Dupon is in a critical condition from exposure. Vancouver, B.C., Dec 3 – Two fatal accidents occurred yesterday at Fernie. A laborer was buried under slide in railway construction and John Hanan was ground to pieces under a train. Daysland Dec, 3. Chas. Sanderlin, a homesteader near here, has been committed for trial on a charge of attempted murder. He turned his wife out of doors very scantily clothed and his brother then wrapped a fur coat about the woman and took her to his own shack. Sanderlin followed and fired several shots through the door of the shack. The prisoner has been taken to Fort Saskatchewan to await trial.
