Things have been lively in town the last few months Revillion Bros. Have built a fine new dwelling house, put a picket fence around their property and gave all their buildings a thorough overhauling. Sam Cunningham has built a big dwelling house 28 x 25 and two new feed stables. Sid Fravess has build a new feed stable and house. Dan Stewart has opened up a new saddlery store, Sid Mearon built a new house and stable, Bell and Nick Olson, a new livery and feed stable, H.B.. Co. a fine big sore house. The next thing will be a fort nightly mail. One month is a long time to have to wait for mail. Ottawa, Dec 24, Sam St. Jacques, one of the proprietors of the Burnswick hotel, and a brother of the late Xavier St. Jacques, dropped dead in the hotel while attending to his duties today. He was about 45 years of age, married, but no family. Heart disease caused the death. Vancouver, B.C. Dec 24, George McGrath, timber cruiser, who spent five days without food, marooned on Texada island, was almost dead from hunger and exhaustion when picked up by the tug Chinool, McGrath's former companion was blown to sea and undoubtedly drowned.
