KC BIGGAR, O.M. TAYLOR, H.C. ADAMS, C.F. McNEL, E.P. The commission appointing H.C. Taylor a judge of the newly constituted district court arrived today and he will be sworn in at once. Mrs. Stanley Stewart, 321 Ninth street, will received on the first Friday of each month. A. Matthews, a Rat Portage farmer, is in the city having come west to have a look at the country. A meeting of the Benchers of the Law Society of Alberta was held Tuesday evening in Judge Taylor's office. Those present were MUIR, J. K.C. – Calgary LOUGHEED, J.A. K.C. – Calgary WELCH, W.L. – K.C. Calgary CONNYBENRE, C.F.P. KC. – Lethbridge WHITE, D.G. – Medicine Hat GREEN, G.W. – Red Deer BROWN, J.C.F. KC – Edmonton BIGGAR, O.M. – Edmonton TAYLOR, H.C. – Edmonton And Attorney-General Cross, benchier ex-officio. Mr. Muir was elected president, Mr. Conydeare vice-president , and C.F. Adams, Secretary treasurer. H.C. Taylor resigned his position, as a bencher owing to his appointment as district court judge, and Mr. E.P. McNEL of Macleod, was appointed in his place. Various committees were appointed, and on Wednesday afternoon repots from the retiring committees were heard and commented upon. Work for the ensuing year was drafted.
