Mr. Eugene Clark of Vermillion is renewing acquaintances at the Fort his week. Austin, son of Mr. George Kimball left this morning for Washington Territory. Mr. W.H. White, Dominion Homestead Inspector, passed through the Fort this week, and reports no serious suffering in the district over which he travels, The fuel question with the farmers was easy, as the Dominion Government had given the settlers privilege to cut wood free, on any Dominion lands, and coal was within easy travelling distance to Almost all. The Galatians being especially well provided for in food and clothing. On Monday afternoon a most peculiar accident happened, which might have been disastrous. A Mr. Nash, well digger, whilst in the act of taking a horse blanket out of a sleight, inadvertedly pulled the trigger of a loaded gun which was lying in the sleight, and shot Mr. James Kelly in the leg, tearing the flesh. The ball then entered the horse's leg. Flattening itself against the bone. Mr. Kelly is not seriously hurt and the bullet was extracted from the horse later on. Mr. Schneider is owner of the horse and thinks the accident was caused through carelessness. Rev. A.F. Forbes and Mr. John Paul visited the sturgeon on Thursday last for the purpose of attending a social in the Presbyterian church at that point. Mrs. E. Wilmeroth entertained a number of young people on Wednesday evening, her guest Miss Ethel Symington being the raison d'etre of the occasion.
