Dr. OPFER, Henry Dr. Riddell has returned from the Macleod, where he was assisting at the special ordination of Henry Hadden, a late Alberta College student who takes charge of the Frank Mission. . Mr. Jerry Smith, the well known Independence farmer, is in the city today at the Imperial. He has 120 acres under crop this year and says that the prospects were never better for a record harvest both of hay and grain. Mr. And Mrs. W.R. Killips, of Syndicate avenue, were at home to a party of about thirty of their friends on Friday evening. Cards and dancing were the features, along with an excellent supper served shortly after midnight. A thoroughly enjoyable time was spent by all present. Mrs. W.A. Deyl entertained the Ladies of the Maccabees at her new home on Bellamy street, Thursday afternoon. A delicate lunch was served and a pleasant afternoon enjoyed. A dancing party was planned for Wednesday evening July 31 st Final arrangements will be made at the regular review Monday evening, July 22nd. Dr. H.R. Smith, who has interested himself in the case of the unfortunate German, Henry Opfer whose feet were frozen last winter, requiring the amputation of both limbs below the knees, reports the receipt of $23 in subscriptions toward securing artificial limbs for the man. This amount was subscribed through the Bulletin. Lists were open in other places, but as yet no other returns have been make. It will require $150to purchase the artificial limbs.
