Woman Heads Life-Saving Branch

Mrs. Lottie Millar was elected president of the Calgary branch of the Royal Life Saving Society at the annual meeting held in the Police building. With experience in teaching both in Toronto and at the municipal pool, Mrs. Millar is the holder of the Diploma, highest award of the R.L.S.S.

 "We hope to make further progress next summer," said Miss Donna Reynolds, retiring president "by securing if possible, times when the municipal pool will be closed for life-saving instruction only."

TWENTY-ONE interim certificates were awarded at the meeting, which was well attended.

 Other officers for the coming year are: first vice-president, W. H. Irvine; second vice-president, Gerry Francis; secretary, Joan Prince; treasurer, Keith Gordon; councillors, Wilma White and Walter Dietiker.
