A. W. SAVARY was elected president of the Calgary Optimist Club at the noon luncheon meeting today and will be installed by Harold Kellam, Calgary, former district lieutenant-governor, at the club's tenth annual banquet and dance in the Palliser hotel Saturday evening.
Vice-presidents elected to the new board of governors today were Gil Hall, boys' work; Cecil Neff, membership; Jack Cummer, publicity; Ernie LeNeveu, programs, and Charlie Iler, entertainment. Secretary, treasurer and sergeant-at-arms will be appointed at the first meeting orf the new board.
Main work of the Optimist Club is among boys, and junior Optimist Clubs have been successfully operated in Calgary schools during the last few years. Plans to expand this work during the coming season will be discussed by the new executive, Mr. Savary stated.
