Claresholm Rotarians Hold Inaugural Meet

CLARESHOLM, March 29-- W. S. Korek, supervisor of schools for the Macleod school division, was elected president at the inaugural meeting of Rotary International held Wednesday. Ryerson Christie of Cardston, district deputy governor of Rotary, presided at the meeting. And Ken Peacock, of Calgary, reviewed the history of Rotary clubs. Delegations were present from High River, Calgary, Lethbridge, and Cardston. Over 100 people sat down to the banquet served by the Women's Missionary Society of the United Church under the convenership of Mrs. James Haslam.
The Claresholm branch of the Rotary Club was formed with 21 charter members. Other officers elected were: vice-president, Dr. W. Morley Hodgson; secretary, A. W. Kennedy; treasurer, G. Jackson; directors, Alfred G. Lewis, F. Fairbairn, Rev. P. O'Bryne.
