Fernie Board Names Officers

FERNIE, B.C., April 3-- James White was re-elected president of the 
Fernie Board of Trade recently. Len W. Hunnable was re-electedsecretary. First vice-president is George Quail and second vice-president James Cameron.
The 1948 board of trade council is composed of J. V. Rewers, J. R. Wallace, K. N. Stewart, G. E. Elkington, J. Monton, W. Emsley and C. T. Lynch.
THE FINANCIAL statement showed the 
board to be in a sound position.
A letter from B.C. Chief Engineer H. C. Anderson stated that the shops were busy preparing steel for the new bridge at the east side of Fernie and that it would be ready for shipment soon. An erection crew is to follow the laying down of the steel. The hope is to complete 
the bridge before the high water period.
Jack Wallace was named to head the committee to arrange for 
an old-timers' reunion.
