Longridge Heads Labor Council 

William Longridge, international representative of the International Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers, was elected president of the Calgary Labor Council (C.I.O.) by acclamation Monday.
Other officers elected were: John R. Montgomery, president of local 363, United Packinghouse Workers of America, vice-p
resident, and Kay Edwards, financial secretary of local 800, I.U.M.M. and S.W., secretary-treasurer, both by acclamation.
ROBERT MICHEL, secretary of local 504, International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union, and William Orr, former president of local 690, I.U.M.M. and S.W., were appointed to the executive board. George Chadney was appointed co-ordinator for all legislative action to be taken by the council.
A labor school sponsored by the council and directed by Kay Edwards, will be held this winter, it was decided at the meeting.
