Nanton Business Men Hear Annual Reports

NANTON, Jan. 22-- Howard Armstrong was elected president of the Nanton and district Board of Trade Monday. Other officers are:
G. P. Loree, vice-president; C. C. Jessup, second vice-president; secretary, Cyril Caspell; treasurer, C. C. Marshall.
CHAIRMAN OF committees were elected as follows: agriculture, George White; membership, Harold Barbutt and E. Mark; entertainment, A. Wheeler.
The meeting was presided over by the retiring president, Thomas Hagerman.
G. P. LOREE reported Russell Johnston had won the H. I. Montgomery award for the best plot of wheat.
Howard Armstrong for the public relations committee reported that the No.1 highway would be hard-surfaced from High River to Claresholm, and that the collection of money for erection of a community centre was progressing.
O.G. PARSONS reported that the harvest labor office had been kept open for two months and more than 200 men had been placed during the season.
H. C. Spencer gave a short address on rural electrification.
