Rocky I.O.D.E. Holds Elections

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE, March 1-- The MacDonald of Garth Chapter of the I.O.D.E. last week elected Miss Mary Ross as regent for her second term. First vice-regent is Mrs. V. Laing; second vice-regent, Mrs. V. Mottus; secretary, Mrs. S. G. Hooker; treasurer, Mrs. P. Prato; educational secretary, Mrs. S. Fleming; Ecoes secretary, Miss F. Strong; standard bearer, Mrs. C. Fay; war work convener, Mrs. J. R. K. Hall; councillors, Mrs. S. Durnford, Mrs. G. B. Elliot, Mrs. A. Parsons, Mrs. W. Strong, Mrs. E. Whidden.
COMMITTEE conveners showed a successful year. The chapter raised $3,615 and spent $3,601. Donations were made to all provincial and national scholarships and bursaries.
The chapter handled the Cancer drive in the town and district; collected clothing for the Red Cross; books and magazines for servicemen in the north and for outlying schools. Christmas hampers were sent to a dozen people in town.
Last summer the chapter bought a building on main street for a library which has more than 2,000 books.
The chapter staged a flower show, peony tea and ice carnival.
