Mrs. M.G. Dover President of C.W.A.C. Group

Mrs. M. G. Dover, M.B.E. formerly lieutenant-colonel in the Canadian Women's Army Corps, was named president of the C.W.A.C. Association at a recent meeting.

The association is the only one of its kind in Canada and is an active group of more than 100 ex-C.W.A.C. members.

MRS. DOVER, a native of Calgary, enlisted in the women's corps early in the Second Great War and was the first corps member at Military District 13 to receive her uniform and first to become a staff officer. She commanded the first C.W.A.C. training centre and served with N.D.H.Q. in Ottawa.

Active in community work, Mrs. Dover is also past-president of the Women's Canadian Club and second vice-president of the provincial command of the Canadian Legion.

MISS MARY MORRISON of Calgary, who served as captain with the corps, was 1948 president and resigned in September to attend McGill University. Mrs. James Baker, vice-president, was in charge of the association, following Miss Morrison's departure.

Miss Dorothy Reeves has been named vice-president, Miss Miriam Lynch-Staunton, secretary, Miss Gladys Cummins, treasurer and Miss Doris Attwood social convener. Members of the social committee, headed by Miss Attwood, are Mrs. G. E. McFadyen, Miss Elaine Dish, Mrs. Frank Ward and Miss Ruby Gibson.

Executive meetings will be held the second Tuesday in March, June, September and December with the special annual banquet slated for September.
