Imperial Branch Instals Officers

G. D. Marson was installed as president of Imperial Branch No. 102, Canadian Legion, for his third consecutive term, at the special general meeting held Sunday afternoon at the clubrooms, 310 7th Ave. W.
S. S. Nelson, honorary treasurer, Alberta Provincial Command of the Legion, conducted the installation ceremonies, assisted by David Fraser, provincial secretary.
OTHERS INSTALLED to office were: Jack H. Gillespie, vice-president; executive, Edward F. Lackman, W. O. G. Rose, Frank Izzard, Frank H. Baker, W. I. "Dick" Richards, Dai W. Morgan and Tom J. L. Wilkinson.
Mr. Morgan and Mr. Wilkinson were elected to the executive immediately before the installation. A recent amendment to the constitution of the branch provided for the addition of two members to the executive. Mr. Fraser presided over the meeting while the elections were held.
THERE WAS A BRIEF discussion about the recent increases in the price of milk, butter and other foods and a special committee consisting of J. A. Gillespie, chairman, D. W. Morgan, F. H. Baker and Fred Towell, was appointed to draft a suitable resolution which will be sent to the Alberta and Dominion Commands of the Legion and the Alberta and Dominion governments.
In naming the committee, Mr. Marson suggested that the committee should include in the resolution a method whereby the price increases could be offset by federal action, possibly by the restoration of subsidies on foods.
