RED DEER, Jan. 26-- At the annual meeting of the Red Deer post of the Canadian Legion Sunday, W. J. C. Kirby was elected president. Joe Walsh will take the 1st vice-president's office, while R. C. Lister fills the second.
John D. Eggleston, a nominee for the presidency, was elected to the executive with R. L. Dale and D. C. Wells. They will serve two year terms.
F. DELEAVNAY will serve on the executive for a year with R. W. Tetley and P.

The incoming executive will discuss plans to build a new Legion hall with the city council.
THE GRANTING of life memberships to active members who reach the age of 70 was discussed, and a motion passed "that members with ten years' active membership in the local posy upon reaching the age of 70 have their dues remitted."
F. W. Horn urged that the Dominion command be approached to press the federal government for a postoffice this year and that ex-service men be appointed as letter carriers. John Drever, who resigned from the presidency after serving eight years, was presented with a life membership in the local branch and an engraved silver tray.
