James Short - H.S.A. - Holds Instalation

Mrs. E. H. Boalch recently installed the following slate of officers at the annual meeting of the James Short H.S.A.: Honorary president, Mr. G. H. Lunn; retiring president, Mrs. F. G. Gleed; president, Mrs. Richard Blunston; first vice-president, Mrs. E. Norville?; second vice-president, Mrs. Frederick Brown; recording secretary, Mrs. Mary Kidd; corresponding secretary, Mrs. N. Bergstrom; treasurer, Mrs. Arthur Marsh; business program, Mr. and Mrs. David de Pat?; social program, Mr. C. M. Thompson; membership convener, Mrs. F. G. Gleed; sick and visiting convener, Mrs. J. M. Lindsey; publicity and notices, Mrs. Oscar Amunds; social convener, Mrs. Mary Bordenuik.

ANNUAL REPORTS were read and Mr. G. H. Lund presented Mrs. F. G. Gleed with her past president's pin and an engraved silver plate. Mrs. Isabel Lothian was presented with a cup and saucer as a farewell gift.

Miss G. K. Crawford's room won the attendance prize and a prize for percentage attendance was awarded Mrs. A. Clarke's room.

A PROGRAM was presented by the pupils, including a piano solo by Maureen Balkwill; reading, Ronald Hurov; vocal solo, Louanne Fergison, accompanied her mother, Mrs. William Law, and a tap dance by Barbara Wann. Miss I. Wilson's Grade IV gave a demonstration of folk dancing.

Refreshments were served by Mrs. Mary Bordenuik and her committee.

A successful tea and bazaar was also held recently at the school.
