PINCHER CREEK-- The Women's Association of the United Church received reports
last week, indicating a successful year. Officers elected were:
President, Mrs. Gerald Petersen, re-elected; vice-presidents, Mrs. Ernest
Petersen and Mrs. Tom Telford; secretary, Mrs. Delmar Fox; treasurer, Mrs.
James McKay.
REV. R. M. MORIARTEY installed
the incoming officers. Donations were made to the British and Foreign Bible
Society, and the Missionary and Maintenance Fund.
Mrs. Mary Halton was re-elected president of the Women's Missionary Society
recently. Other officers named were: vice-presidents, Mrs. Sam Mitchell and
Mrs. Cliff Slater; secretary, Mrs. John Marr; treasurer, Mrs. Lloyd Purkis.
A LIFE membership was
presented to Mrs. Alfred Armstrong.
The group held its annual candle-lighting and carol services, with Mrs. Halton
in charge. Taking part were Mrs. Clarence Sawyer, Mrs. Cecil Blackburn, Mrs.
Samuel Mitchell, Mrs. Neil McLean, Mrs. C. E. Hinton and Mrs. Edward Hazelton.
Singers were Mrs. Betty Purkis and Miss Eva Crawford, and Mrs. K. Kelvin
Robinson.
