Golden Age Club Forms Branch
A branch of the Golden Age Club will be opened Jan. 24 at 2:30 p.m. at the Calgary Labor Temple it was announced at the club's annual meeting Wednesday evening.
The branch will accommodate members living in the eastern and central sections of the city, and will allow many new members, whose names are now on a waiting list, to join the main club which meets in the recreation hut behind Mewata armories.
ELECTED TO the board of directors of the club were: Dr. G. D. Stanley, honorary president; Alex Calhoun, president; W. T. Hobson, first vice-president; Mrs. J. H. Mooney, second vice-president; Frank Pain, treasurer; J. D. Middlemass, secretary; Margaret Kearns, Mrs. Lilian McAra, Mrs. R. V. Addy, Mrs. M. S. Middlemass, Mrs. J. R. McKay, G. W. Clarke, R. H. Alderman, Leishman McNeil and Norman Priestley.
Members of the club council are: George McIlroy, Mrs. A. W. Pratt, Mrs. G. W. Wickens, Mrs. F. Gell, J. W. Hutchinson, Mrs. S. W. Stone, Mrs. W. Hutt, Estall, J. C. Mahaffy, K.C., honorary solicitor and C. H. Boucher, honorary auditor.
The financial report showed a bank balance of $167, with an additional $200 in the club fund.
