Recreation President Re-Elected

Ernie McCullough Jr. was
 elected to his second term as president of the Calgary Community Recreation Association at the annual meeting of the group Wednesday night.
Other officers elected at the meeting were: Mrs. J. R. Kohn, Ken Moore, Harry Maubert and Jack Diamond, vice-presidents; J. S. Peppard, treasurer; and W. M. Garnett, 
secretary.
A notice of motion was put before the meeting that the position of executive 
secretary should be by appointment. The city commissioners have agreed that Mr. Garnett, the director of sports and recreation for the city of Calgary, be permitted to hold this position.
ACCORDING TO THE association's constitution the secretary is elected.
About 100 representatives of community clubs in the city attended the meeting. Communities represented were: Tuxedo, Forest Lawn, Bridgeland, Killarney, West Hillhurst, Elbow Park, Winston Heights, Capitol Hill, Hillhurst Sunnyside, Mount Royal, Victoria, Crescent Park, Renfrew, Inglewood, Manchester, West Mount Pleasant, Grandview, Rosscarrock, Harvetta Heights, South Calgary and Sunalta.
The aim of the C.C.R.A. which is now going into its seventh year, is to promote recreation programs throughout Calgary, to encourage and develop leisure activities in all communities and to utilize to the fullest extent the city's available recreation facilities. 
DURING 1952 the C.C.R.A. directed the operation of 50 fastball teams, 38 hockey teams and eight basketball 
teams.
