Kimberley Group Re-elects Leader

(By Herald Correspondent)
KIMBERLEY, B.C.-- The Kimberley Amateur Athletic Association, largest single agency in the Kimberley District Community Chest, at its annual meeting re-elected its president, William Campbell; with John Lukus vice-president; secretary, R. J. Barrett; and treasurer, E. E. Pederson.
Elected directors for two-year terms were Hugh Patterson, Peter Gallpen, H. S. Lindquist, Ed Semenzin and Miss Irene Port, and for one-year terms D. D. Harrison and J. Byron.
THE ASSOCIATION affiliates all Kimberley sports. Largest developments during the year were construction of a cinder-block resort building two miles fromKimberley on North Star Hill at the Kimberley Ski Club grounds. This was partly financed from a special Kimberley recreational fund balance and volunteer labor and is valued at nearly $10,000. Part of it is already in operation, including lounge, lockers, canteen and lavatories.
Another major advance was seeding with grass of the outfield at the new city centre baseball field adjoining the skating and curling rinks which will make a first class site of operations for baseball in 1953.
