Scarboro W.M.S. Elects Executive At Annual Meeting

At the recent annual meeting of the W.M.S. of Scarboro United Church, Rev. Dr. S. J. Parsons installed the following slate for 1953: honorary president, Mrs. S. J. Parsons; past president, Mrs. I. C. Robison; president, Mrs. R. Gray; vice-presidents, Mrs. H. G. Charman, Mrs. J. A. Pogue and Mrs. Eric Edwards; recording secretary, Mrs. K. B. Grant; corresponding secretary, Mrs. A. Dyson; and treasurer, Mrs. W. G. Pogue.
Committees will be headed as follows: Christian stewardship, Mrs. D. Nelson; supply, Mrs. C. C. Starke; librarian, Mrs. W. F. Rogers; community friendship, Mrs. A. E. Williams; press, Mrs. I. M. Reid; Missionary Monthly, Mrs. D. Munro; social, Mrs. J. L. Perkins; Christian citizenship and temperance, Mrs. L. Richardson; and pianist, Mrs. S. J. Parsons.
Dessert and coffee were served prior to the meeting, and Mrs. D. Nelson in her devotional spoke of "The Tree of Life and the Fruit of Spirit." The annual reports showed an increase in every department. One new group of C.G.I.T. girls was formed and literature supplied to it; 863 visits were made to sick and shut-ins; 195 books were borrowed from the library; and 280 pounds of warm clothing were sent to Korea and 90 pounds to the Peace River missions. 
Forty Christmas baskets were filled and delivered to shut-ins, and 61 copies of the Missionary Monthly and 20 of World Friends were subscribed to.
