Toastmistresses Elect As Head Mrs. A. E. Ornburn

Mrs. A. E. Ornburn was installed as president of the Calgary Toastmistress Club at a candle-lighting ceremony in the Al-San Club Thursday evening.
Mrs. Russel Clark conducted the installation following a club banquet at which members of the Coronet Toastmistress Club were guests. Other officers installed were, vice-president, Mrs. Frank Howie; secretary, Mrs. Doris Mercer; treasurer, Mrs. K. G. Calvert; and club representative, Mrs. George Hinds.
MRS. NORMAN SPANKIE was topic mistress and as the evening's "topic" each guest was required to give an impromptu introduction to their fellow-guests at the banquet table.
As "Toastmistress" for the evening Mrs. Frank Howie directed a humorous skit on "How Not to Conduct a Meeting," in which Mrs. J. W. Stiles, Dr. Agnes O'Neil, Mrs. Larry Oughton, Mrs. J. Watson and Miss Florence Thorpe participated.
Greetings from the Coronet club were extended by Mrs. M. Hiett. Presentations were made to Mrs. George Hinds, past president and organizer of Calgary Toastmistress', who received a past president's pin, and to Miss Florence Heron, retiring president.
The installation banquet marked the final club event until fall.
