Many Gifts Presented

Kinsmen Club Given Charter At Fernie

FERNIE, B.C.-- Fernie Kinsmen Club received its charter Saturday night, Norman Martin, Duncan, B.C., governor of District No. 5, presenting it to the new organization's president, Edward Howard.
Fellow Kinsmen and Kinettes along with other guests, in all 100, were present from Cranbrook, Kimberley, Trail and Duncan. The toast to the organization was proposed by Douglas Herron of Kimberley.
JIM ARMSTRONG of Trail, deputy governor installed officers as follows: Edward Howard, president; Harry McKay, vice-president; Harry Newby, secretary; Al Gerlitz, treasurer, Lloyd Hamilton; Harold Craven, Bert Pierson and Dr. Bernard McDaniel, directors.
Various paraphernalia were received from Trail, Rossland, Nelson, Cranbrook, Golden, Field and Slocan City Kinsmen clubs. Telegrams of greetings were received from top officials, and 20 sister clubs across Canada. Ab Neufeld, president of the Kimberley club, was chairman. Sponsoring clubs were Cranbrook and Kimberley.
