Jaycees Elect New Officers

RED DEER-- Red Deer Junior Chamber of Commerce has elected E. R. Schulz president. He succeeds J. O. Phelan, who becomes past president.
Others elected were T. W. Michener, vice-president; K. R. Olsen, secretary; A. Tkach, treasurer and A. Lindskog, S. C. Butler, J. J. Gunn as directors.
COMMITTEE chairmen will be appointed shortly, and plans are for an active year. Jaycees have been operating in Red Deer for two years and completed a number of successful projects which proved popular and beneficial to the community.
One of the highlights of the forthcoming season will be the tourist campaign, in conjunction with which will again be the operation of the tourist information booth. This has proved so popular in past seasons, that help is expected from the provincial government to erect a permanent booth or building for this purpose. It is felt that Red Deer is a likely spot for such a location.
DRIVE-IN bingo will be operated in co-operation with the newly organized Jaycee-ettes. Any funds resulting from this project will be used to further the tourist campaign and promotion of Red Deer.
A president's ball will be held sometime in April.
Stettler Jaycees have recently elected former Red Deer Jaycee, Gerry Winger as their president. Red Deer Jaycees and Jaycee-ettes will travel to Stettler on April 1 to honor their president at the president's ball on that date.
