H.S.A. Installs New Officers

STAVELY-- The H.S.A. final meeting for this term was held Thursday and included nominations and installation of officers for the coming year, presentations to students and showing of films by A. J. Nowicki, principal.
Election results were: Mrs. Edna Leflar, president; Mrs. Isabelle Willis, 1st vice-president; Mrs. L. C. Barnaby, 2nd vice-president; Mrs. Ida Rodgers, receiving-secretary; Mrs. Irene Heggen, treasurer. 
MRS. M. V. HALL, publicity officer, presented book prizes for each room to students chosen by their teachers, and included Dougie Latiff, grade 1; Arthur Scott, grade 2; Sheldon Florence, grade 3; Carol Wagness, grade 4; Clarke Schlosser, grade 5; Robert Curran, grade 6; Sharon Brown, grade 7; Billy Leflar, grade 8.
A cash prize of $5 donated by H.S.A. and teachers went to David Malchow was best grade 9 student.
STAVELY BASEBALL team holds first place in the eight team Foothills Wheat Baseball league; with Granum in second place.
Stavely has suffered one loss.
Oil well drilling is under operation on the farm of Mrs. J. Stanford, three miles west of town. Several houses have been rented and trailers set up due to extra workers arriving.
