Farmers To Take Course

The department of extension of the University of Alberta announced today the names of 39 young farm people who will attend the 4th annual rural leadership course at the Banff School of Fine Arts.
Those from Central and Southern Alberta include: Wilfred A. Aspens, Camrose; Bernard Rostang, Ohaton; Mrs. H. Ramsell, Bittern Lake; Irvin Olstad, New Norway; Walter Dietz, Galahad; Mrs. Ray Rushton, Red Willow; Harry Holmlund, Wetaskiwin; Harvey Sugget, Bentley; Mrs. E. Grose, Clive; Laurence Wagner, Clive; Muriel Bauer, Lacombe; Elaine Primus, Alix; Arnold Jones, Ponoka; Robin O'Baird, Gadsby; Phyllisann Scott, Red Deer; Mrs. Viola Hillman, Markerville; Kees Winter, Penhold; Donald Blaine, Didsbury; Bruce Ing, Carstairs; Harold Schielke, Carstairs; Ron Pollock, Hubalta; Merville Lepper, Irricana; Doug Fraser, Hussar; Eric Knudson, Hussar; Geo. Thompson, High River; Ray Long, Spring Coulee; Gordon Cameron, Cayley; and Wallace Daley, Granum.
THIS TWO-WEEK course, running from Oct. 25 to Nov. 27, is designed to develop leadership techniques in the carefully selected group of farm young people. Highlighting the course will be addresses by Mrs. W. C. Taylor, president of the Farm Women's Union of Alberta, Henry Young, president of the Farmers' Union of Alberta and Roy Marler, president of the Alberta Federation of Agriculture.
The course is under the direction of the department of extension of the University of Alberta and is being sponsored by the Alberta Federation of Agriculture, Junior Farmers' Union of Alberta, United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative, Alberta Wheat Pool and the United Grain Growers.
