21 Calgary Girls Attend CWAC Camp In B.C.

VERNON, B.C.-- Twenty-one Calgary and district women are among the 200 members of the Canadian Women's Army Corps from B.C. and Alberta now in the second week of two weeks training here.
The girls in khaki from more than a score of Militia units in the two provinces are taking part in the first postwar CWAC concentration in British Columbia. Last year's camp, the first in Western Command since 1945, was at Banff, Alta.
The girls will return in to their home locations starting Friday Sept. 5.
FOLLOWING is a list of the Calgary girls with their civilian occupations:
Ptes. Anne Kurylo, stenographer, and Doris Caldwell, housewife, both of 22 Militia Group Headquarters; WO2 Helen Kozicky stenographer, Calgary Highlanders; Ptes. Janette Aindow, housewife; Ila Arkell, housewife; Frances Lauttamus, housewife; Marie Lemaire, checker; Mildred McLean, sales clerk; Rose Orlesky, clerk; Frances Vouri, bookkeeper; and Margaret Sandin, typist, all members of 150 Company RCASC; Cpl. Marjorie Nelles, housewife, 153 Company, RCASC; Cpl. Marjorie Christenson, housewife; and Pte. Mary Chorzempa, nurse's aide, both of 21 Medical Company, RCAMC; Pte. Gladys Webster, clerk, 6th Ordnance Company, RCOC; Pte. Elizabeth Lee, housewife, 59 Dental Company, RCDC; Officer Cadet Maureen Smith, accountant; Sgt. Beatrice Henderson, bookkeeper; Cpls. Elizabeth Connolly, housewife; and Catherine Sanders, typist; and Pte. Eleana Grieveson, stenographer, all of 110 Manning Depot.
